For ongoing home education registration, Queensland Home Education (QHE) asks you to provide an educational program summary outlining your plan for your child鈥檚 learning and development over the coming year. It is a summary, not a record of every lesson or activity you intend to do.
Your planned learning should reflect your child鈥檚 educational needs and support their development and progress, rather than simply reproducing a generic school program.
Your summary should explain how your learning environment, activities and resources will support your child鈥檚 learning and wellbeing at home.
You should outline how you will keep track of your child鈥檚 learning and respond as their progress, needs and interests develop through the year.
Good to know
QHE does not require you to use one particular program template.
QHE provides optional examples, including an Australian Curriculum approach, a goal-directed approach and a thematic approach. Apply-ED uses the Australian Curriculum as the curriculum framework while personalising the program around your child.
